Fancy's Story...
Fancy is new to rescue and is a tad shy, but she is beginning to warm up to the kennel volunteers. She is only 1 1/2 years old and no racing career. Her small dog and status in unknown.

FOSTER UPDATE:

Fancy has started to meet the public. Her foster guardians recently took her to a Meet & Greet at Petsmart for a short while. Fancy tolerated being around people and allowing occasional pets more than her foster guardians had anticipated. We have no information on how Fancy has or might interact with small dogs or cats, but gradually this little girl is stepping out!
She is still very shy, but is coming along on her road to learning to trust her humans.
She still starts at unfamiliar noises and may have some separation anxiety issues, when they leave for a short time. She knows how to use the dog door and loves to go for walks.
She can't be an only dog and would do best in a home with older or no children.
She is energetic and always trying to play with her older foster siblings.
If you have patience and plenty of TLC, she could become a wonderful addition to your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fancy, a Tucson Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tucson, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tucson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tucson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tucson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tucson paves the way for another one to be saved.
