My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beamer is a 2.5 year old, tricolor, male, sheltie turned in by his owner since she could no longer take care of him. We will try to get a better picture of him soon. He is a very happy, playful and energetic little guy who is very affectionate and cuddly as soon as he gets to know you. He has nice house manners, is housetrained, and walks well on a leash. Beamer's hair was clipped very short several months ago, but it's growing in quite nicely. He's very much ok with cats, appears to like them, and other dogs; although he'd like to be top dog, he's not aggressive at all and will give up if the other dog can't be pushed. Beamer is wary of people at first and will sound the alarm if a stranger comes near him, but is friendly when he gets to know the person. He appears to like small children, but would be ok with teenagers and older. He lived in a condominium and didn't get much exercise, so at present he is a bit overweight and just now developing his muscles and coordination by playing with another dog and running around a big yard. Beamer will do best in a home (vs. apartment or condo) with an active family that's willing to walk him frequently and have another dog that will romp with him to keep him active and from reverting to a couch potato.

Beamer is in Orange County. Adopters from Southern California are especially encouraged to apply. To sponsor him, please make a donation on our website or email us for more information. To apply for adoption, please fill out our online application so the appropriate volunteer can get back to you.
