Arvin's Story...
Arvin is a 3yr old shorthaired orange tabby with white on his chest, chin, feet and belly. He is a very friendly vocal boy. Arvin loves attention and will follow you around for it. Arvin likes to be petted but not picked up. He is not above letting you know loudly that he hasn't had enough. Arvin has lived with other cats, dogs, and chickens. He's been a bit of a bully with some of the other males but fine with females. Arvin can get overstimulated and will bite and swat at you so we recommend older children in his new home. He was a mostly outdoor cat in his previous home. As with all cats adopted through PAWS, Arvin has been neutered, vetted, vaccinated-including rabies, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Arvin, a Bainbridge Island Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bainbridge Island, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bainbridge Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bainbridge Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bainbridge Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bainbridge Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
