Holly's Story...
Who needs mistletoe when you’ve got Holly?

The holiday season is here and Holly hopes she'll be a forever home soon. This little girl meets every requirement on your wish list. A kitty that curls up in your lap and purrs while you pet her? Check. Cleans her plate every time? Check. Warms up to strangers quickly? Check. Good with children and other cats? Check. She’ll look gorgeous on your Christmas cards thanks to her soft white fur and black ears and tail. Santa even decided to give her an extra special present. Holly can fetch! That’s right. If you toss a toy (or a sugarplum fairy) across the room, she’ll bring it back to you. And remember, every time you rub Holly’s belly, an angel gets its wings. With Holly around, it’s a wonderful life! This sweet girl was born April 2012.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holly, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
