WINSTON's Story...
WINSTON is currently in the CAMP CANINE PROGRAM and practicing his basic manners nicely. He is a 6-year-old Pug mix who has a cute underbite. His coloring is brown with black ears and snout and a little black sparsely mixed throughout his coat. He weighs in at 17 pounds but has the confidence of a giant. When Winston is ready to play he will come up beside you and sit down, stare at you, then start to paw at your arm/leg to get your attention. Spunky Winston loves attention! So, whether it’s running, walking or games, he’s your “go to.” He would be comfortable in a home with other dogs and is friendly to every human he meets. The curly tail that sits on his back wags a mile a minute when meeting new people or just hanging out with his friends. Winston is a wonderful little guy and would shower his love on anyone wanting to give him a home!! When WINSTON is done with the 8-10 week Camp Canine Program, he will be an AKC Good Citizen who knows basic commands (sit, stay, down) and other skills he’ll need to interact with humans and other dogs. He is fully-vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. If you would like to meet him or add him to your family, please give the Humane Society of Oldham County a call at 502-222-7537 or email jojohsoc@aol.com!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

WINSTON, a LaGrange Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
