Honeydew's Story...
GOTTA DANCE! GOTTA DANCE!
I can dance better than Fred Astaire, and I’m cuter, too!

Honeydew is an adorable, friendly, loving little fellow who has all the dance moves you could ever imagine in a kitty! He has the bounciest twinkle toes, he can hip hop, two step, soft shoe and tap! He is so cute he is just fun to be around and watch his antics.

Honeydew is about 2 years old. He was rescued from DC Animal Control, and we feel just as lucky as he should – because he’s such a pleasure to be around! Honeydew is neutered, has his vaccinations, and tests negative for FeLV. He tests positive for FIV, but his FIV status is not a problem for other cats because he’s friendly and playful with his feline friends – but he would be fine as an only cat, also. He’ll live a long and happy life as long as he has lots of high-quality food, and someone to take good care of him, and love him forever.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Honeydew, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
