My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cassidy was born in January, 2011. We know this because she was born at Animal Control. Her mom was a pregnant stray dogs. Cassidy moved into foster care with her siblings and her mom so she could grow in size and strength. When she was three months old she was spayed and placed up for adoption. A couple came and adopted her. Cassidy thought her life was just starting but alas that was not to be. You see the very family that adopted her from the kill shelter brought her back 14 months later when they moved across town. :( Our cute girl was placed back up for adoption but after a week, no one came to adopt her so she was placed on the kill list. Thankfully RESCUE was able to step in and save this precious girl from a tragic and unnecessary fate.

We are happy to report that Cassidy has not lost her faith in us humans. She is still a happy-go-lucky spry gal. She is still hopefully that there is a family out there that will love her for all the days of her life and not abandoned her again. Her hope and happiness is pretty contagious. Within a few moments of being around Cassidy you're smiling and her playful antics. She'll look at you with her head tilted as if to make sure you're ready and off she goes bounding after a toy or just prancing around, showing off her long legs!

Cassidy and her long legs are definitely going to need an active lifestyle to keep her mind and body busy. Jogging or hiking are definitely in Cassidy's wheelhouse. She'll need to stretch out those long legs of her every day. She's still a youngster so the daily morning exercise will help her burn off that abundance of energy. She loves toys so games of ball would be great. Hopefully you can throw far because Cassidy is super fast and it doesn't take her long to retrieve the ball for you to toss again. :) If you're a hiker, Cassidy wants to meet you! Exploring all the new smells while hiking around the valley and our great state would be a dream come true for this sweetheart.

While Cassidy is an active gal, she certainly has a lot of love and attention to give too. She's pretty animated as well so there won't be any shortages of smiles in your house if you add her to your family. So if you're looking for a fun, outgoing, bubbly, active companion to join you on your adventures, Cassidy is your gal! She can't wait to meet you! She's a great dog with so much to give and while she hasn't been truly appreciated in the past, we know that this next step in her life will be the best one yet! Cassidy weighed 47 pounds when we saved her from the kill list.
