Lexi's Story...
Lexi is an adorable young kitty that was found as a stray with her 6 littermates. Her approximate birthday is in March 2012. She looks like an ally cat- she has a very pretty face with bold stripes and big eyes. She is friendly and playful, but she can be shy at first. She likes to be handled, but sometimes on her own terms. For instance, she will come lay with you on the couch and purr while she nibbles at your fingers, but if you go pick her up she sometimes wiggles away. She likes other cats and will play with her friend Cookie who is also available for adoption. She enjoys sitting on your lap while you are on the computer and watching the screen too, and she loves to sit right in front of the TV! She gets the most affectionate and cuddly at night. She will eat almost anything and everything when it come to people food if you let her!

Lexi would do best in a home where she has another kitty friend. We recommend adopting kittens in pairs if there are no other friendly cats in the home. A playmate provides important socialization and stimulation, especially for people who work all day and can't be home with their kitten. Kittens bond to one another and play in a way humans can't. Adoption fee is $125 for one kitten, or $225 for two, and includes deworming, up to date vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing of each litter, and spay or neuter. If interested in giving Lexi her forever home, please email Jackie at jakrivero@yahoo.com for an application

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexi, a Lafayette Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lafayette, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Lafayette.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lafayette already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lafayette breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lafayette paves the way for another one to be saved.
