Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ben is our little miracle boy. He and his 6 siblings were dumped at petco in Santa Clarita. Unfortunately, only 3 of the 6 kittens survived, and Ben was one of the sickest. While the others were sick, he was 100% healthy. It wasn't until they were healthy that he got sick, and he got really sick. He had coccidia and calici at the same time. The coccidia cleared up and he is now past that, but unfortunately the calici caused some permanent damage. He has some scar tissue in his throat making it extremely hard for him to meow. He tries, but usually ends up quacking instead of meowing. He also has a weird cough. He's not sick and it's nothing that will infect other kitties, it's just something that he will always have. He usually starts coughing when he purrs, which is just about all the time, but once he starts purring is when he coughs. Once he's been purring for a little bit he stops coughing and just continues purring. The scar tissue also makes it a little bit difficult for him to swallow, so he sometimes needs baby food mixed in his food to make it easier for him to swallow. He was born on May 27, 2012. He loves people, dogs, and other animals. He loves kids, too! He's been neutered, FelV tested, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you are interested in this cutie, please contact Lexie@happystrays.org.
