My name is Buffy. I am a very pretty, 14 plus year old, red n white cocker girl with my eyes and ears perfectly shaded in a chestnut color. The history of my first 3 years of life is unknown, but my shyness and lack of trust in people indicated that I truly had been a victim of abusive treatment. Quite awhile back I came to this rescue and they worked with me so I started doing better. Then I was taken to the vet because I had glaucoma in one eye. It had advanced quickly and my eye was badly bulging and very painful. My only option at that point was to have the eye removed. Surgery was successful. A few months later, my other eye had issues too so it had to be removed.
I am here as a senior life timer now, but I wish I could have found a home of my own before I got this old. All I needed was someone willing to help me overcome my past issues. Impact of prior abusive treatment can be overcome with patience and understanding; I just needed the chance to feel comfortable in a loving forever home. I am no longer adoptable but these kind rescue folks must continue to care for me for however long I have to live.
