Howie's Story...
Howie here – what’s the happs? Howie you doing? I’m just hangin’ here at the shelter waiting for my forever home. I’m a patient guy, pretty mellow, a little shy, and over the top sweet. I’ve never had a real home, so I don't really know what to expect…but I bet it’s nice. I just need a patient family to raise me right, give me lots of love, lots of guidance and lots of training. I’m great with other dogs, and I just love all the attention gentle children have to offer. I’d be a great guy to take around town, to the store, the beach, the dog park – wherever really – I’m just that sweet. And, the more places I go, the more confident I will become! So, Howie bout it? Wanna take me home?! 5 months old-34lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes; microchip, neuter, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam , 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Howie, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
