Charles's Story...
Hi, my name is Charlie. Could I be any cuter or happier? I’m a 6-year-old shih tzu, weighing about 14 pounds

. I have sweetness, love and fun times to give. I’m a super-gentle dog with absolutely no aggression at all toward any other dogs, cats or humans of all shapes and sizes.

Outside I’m great on the leash and inside I love to snuggle with my foster mommy and get belly rubs. You can pick me up, hold me, and handle me anywhere, as I just love humans and love cuddles.

My eyesight is still good, though they might be a little cloudy. So what, right? Look at all the humans with eyeglasses! Ha! Yet that doesn’t stop be from easily seeing and getting around. Make me your loving little one forever!

I’m tested heartworm negative, received all my vaccine shots and am housetrained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charles, a Long Beach Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Long Beach, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Long Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Long Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Long Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Long Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
