About Our Rescue Group...
Noah's Kingdom Humane Society is a volunteer operated not for profit animal rescue organization. Our main mission is to rescue animals from traditional shelters, and house them until they can be placed in permanent new homes. All our animals are vaccinated, tested and altered prior to adoption. Special adoption rates apply for special needs cats and cats over age 7 through our "Seniors Need Love Too!" program.
Our other main project is to reduce the number of feral (undomesticated)cats through our Trap/neuter/release program. We provide humane traps and free or reduced cost veterinary care to area residents who are taking care of cats on the streets.
In 2008, Noah's Kingdom, in partnership with several other rescue groups in the Albany NY area as the Cat Care Coalition, opened a low cost spay/neuter clinic for low income area residents.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Noah's Kingdom holds cat adoption clinics weekdays from 6 - 8 PM, Saturdays from 1 - 4 PM and Sundays from noon - 4 PM at the Crossgates Commons PETsMART store, 161 Washington Ave. Extension in Albany NY. Other times are available by appointment. .
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters must complete an application, provide references that will be checked by our adoption counselors, and sign an adoption contract stating that they agree to Noah's policies and that they will return the animal to us if they cannot keep it. Our adoption fee is $75 for cats ($40 for cats in our "Seniors Need Love Too! program) and $85 for kittens 4 months old or younger.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cindy, a Albany Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Albany, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
