Nickel & Sterling's Story...
Nickel and Sterling are a beautiful pair of bonded cockatiels. They are both 9 years old and have always been together.
Nickel is a white faced cockatiel. In the past he had an infection in his left eye which was treated but scar tissue formed so he cannot open the eye. He appears to have good vision in his right eye though. He will step up on our fingers with encouragement. The vet said he was underweight but since coming to his foster home he is eating well. His diet consists of Zupreem pellets and we have introduced fresh fruits and vegetables. He loves to whistle softly.
Sterling is a pearl cockatiel and like Nickel will step up with encouragement. She is also underweight but is eating well here on a diet of Zupreem pellets and fresh fruits and vegetables. Her favorite thing to do is to follow Nickel around the cage and sit close to him. They are very cute together and do not make a lot of noise. They just need a forever home where they will be cared for and loved.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nickel & Sterling, a Tampa Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
