Avery's Story...
A calm, sweet soul. Avery came from a rural shelter which cannot house all the dogs that come through its doors. She's a lovely dog who's a bit camera shy so these pictures don't do her justice. Avery is loving the attention she's getting from our volunteers and staff. She adores being petted and will sit leaning against you relishing your touch. She's healthy and about a year old. She's got her whole life ahead of her and is eager to see what the future holds. We can see her getting really attached to her new owner. Will you be the lucky one? Contact adoptions@homelesspets.com for more info. Or visit Avery at 1343 Gresham Rd, Marietta 30062 (Mon-Thurs 8-8, Fri 8-6). Fax an application (found at homelesspets.com/adoptions) to 770-971-1292. Remember that a fostered dog becomes a more adoptable dog so if you have some time and space in your house, please consider providing a temporary home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Avery, a Marietta Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
