Hirschel's Story...
Hirschel is a cute and friendly little dog. He has been at his foster home for several weeks now and is looking much much better. These pictures were taken when we first took him in. We will be updating his pictures shortly. His foster mom reports that he has learned basic commands like "sit" and is very good at feeding time (sits and waits patiently for his bowl to be placed on the floor). He does great with kids and the other dogs, and he's warming up to the cats. He can be very playful and he also enjoys just being a couch potato. He loves to snuggle up in laps as often as possible. His foster mom is also a dog trainer and has been working on turning this little guy into the handsome, polite gentleman he is today. Hirschel is 4 years old and about 20 pounds. He is scheduled to be vetted shortly and he is already microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hirschel, a Linden Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Linden, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Linden.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Linden already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Linden breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Linden paves the way for another one to be saved.
