Wilson's Story...
UPDATE: Wilson has gained 7 pounds since he came to the shelter 2 weeks ago....he is now weighing in at 33.2 pounds and is still gaining. He is a happy boy, which you can see in his most recent pictures.

Hi! My name is Wilson, and my friend, William, and I were found tied to an abandoned car just up the road from the shelter. I will tell you, it is VERY scary out in the middle of the woods at night! I am feeling quite safe here at the shelter and I'm extremely well-adapted, considering that I am extremely malnourished and need some cleaning up. It is estimated that I am 8 years old and right now I weigh 26 pounds (although I should weigh about 50). I am quiet and reserved, so if I sound like your type, please stop by to meet me today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wilson, a Huntingdon Beagle/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Border Collie for sale in Huntingdon, or seeking a Beagle/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Huntingdon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntingdon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntingdon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Border Collie breeders who help with Beagle/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntingdon paves the way for another one to be saved.
