Bio Update 11/27/12: Jazzie update! It seems Jazzie has come into her own...she has gained over three pounds and finally looks like a young healthy pup! What a personality! The shy little demure pup I rescued in September has come out of her shell!! VERY typical terrier behavior - if she doesn't want to walk in one direction, she will stop in her tracks and make every effort to back out of her halter and go "her" way! But she bats those beautiful big brown eyes as if to say "what? I just want to do it my way!" She also likes being verbal and is always in the thick of things! Jazzie is well integrated with the pack and likes to "play" with the kitties, but shows no aggression towards them. Where she does challenge and become defensive is when she is excited and attempts are made to quiet her or pick her up - we are still working on that. We are still working on potty training - she is good for the most part - no accidents in her crate at all. Jazzie tends to befriend women more than men - Jazz is a work in progress!
Initial Bio 09/12/12: Meet Jazzie! Jazzie is approximately a 4 yo spayed, long tailed (not docked!) female Yorkie/Silky mix who was a stray in NY and rescued from a high kill shelter at the last minute...... Jazzie was emaciated and underweight at 7.2 lbs and has gained a pound in a week - she loves to eat! She is a very sweet lady who should weigh at least 10-12 lbs - there does not appear to be any aggression as she seems very passive. Foster mom thinks she has been housebroken, although there have been a couple of "accidents" but with a little concentration and training in her new furever home, she should adjust well. She loves toys, cuddling, riding in the car, walks, and doesn't mind the kitties - once she gets over an intestinal virus we'll work on integrating her with the other pups in the house. Jazzie should be available for adoption by end of September.If you're looking for a best friend Jazzie is your girl!
