My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SHACK male, vet checked, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested (-), tx flea preventative, ~5yrs, ~70lbs, Weimaraner.

Shack’s owner dumped him in a high kill pound and due to his ‘mature’ age he was having a hard time finding a new home. Shack is pretty awesome since he is crate trained but doesn’t need it and he’s house trained. He also knows some basic commands. He is nicely mannered and well behaved around the house. He is currently fostered in an apartment in Toronto and is doing very well. He is left for the average 9-5 work hours and gets lots of exercise. He is good with other dogs though he sometimes forgets his manners with other male dogs…(he will try to mount them when first meeting) a firm ‘No’ sends him on his way. We have not had a chance to have him around cats and is better suited to a home with respectful older kids 12yrs+. Shack could easily live with other dogs, he’d be a great buddy for your current dog but he is also fine on his own. He loves people and is a sweet heart of a dog. He loves to be outdoors with his people. This guy would be a great ‘cottage’ dog but is fine hiking, walking and jogging the streets of the city. Shack loves to run and play at the dog park but really likes the hiking and walking with his people when outdoors. He’d be great for a jogger or hiker or simply a family that likes to go for long walks. He is still quite active at 5years young and he will need a good brisk daily walk every day. Come winter it is suggested he be fitted with a warm coat! Check out this site for cool canine clothes, they are reasonably priced, custom made for your pup and MADE IN CANADA - http://laboneyard.com/catalog.php?category=20 . Shack is quite a cuddly guy and just loves pets, hugs and kisses from his people. Shack is sure to make an active, mature family a friendly, loving and loyal canine companion. This is an active breed and happiest in a house with a fenced yard though he has proven to do fine in an apartment with lots of exercise each day.
