Penny's Story...
Penny is a 2-3 year old Beagle mix. She is great with kids and would do well with low key dogs vs high energy dogs. Penny is housebroken, crate trained, very affectionate, loves to run, sits to be leashed, and is eager to please. She likes a good brushing and will give you kisses all day long! Please email adopt@thisisthedog.com for an application. Donations are critical to our existence -- they help us to continue rescuing these animals and to make sure that they are healthy and properly socialized before being adopted.Thank you for considering a rescued animal from This Is The Dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Homestead Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
