My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 09/11/2012: Yogi is a sweetheart; he is a 4 year old 10 lb boy who was picked up as a stray by a high-kill shelter. He was severely matted and had an overwhelming tick infestation. He smelled like feces and urine before he was bathed and shaved by his foster mom. FM could tell he was love-starved from the lack of affection he was probably used to receiving, but obviously hasn't received recently due to the horrible condition he was in when rescued. It appeared that someone just kicked him to the curb - poor little guy. Yogi is already neutered, but he needs to have his leg and eye examined. He has a soft tissue mass on his front right leg which needs to be removed, and one of his eyes is irritated because of matted hair that was around his eye; his eye irritation is improving now that the hair is not in his eyes, and has less discharge. We will know more this week, but this little guy needs to have both issues looked at.

Yogi is a busy, active dog that loves noisy toys. He is learning English, as he was previously responding to Spanish commands. He tried to escape on Day #1 - he ran into the glass sliding door full-speed trying to run out of the house. Foster Mom feels that he is a runner; he has also chewed through 2 harnesses in less than 2 days. Yogi likes people - all people, and likes other dogs, as well. He still needs some work in the housetraining department. Stay tuned as his foster parents get to know him better.
