Here's what the humans have to say about me:
GRIFFIN. I am a quintessential dachshund puppy-- playful, funny, kind, vocal and needing attention while more than willing to heap ample love and affection on everybody! I walk very well on a leash, and I like burrowing under blankets and towels, and loves being touched. I especially love playing with older (gentle) kids. Unfortunately, my human folks were wanting a miniature and were surprised to find that I am going to be a tweenie (I prefer to be called a small standard!) so they kept me outside and did not want to keep me as wonderful as I am. BTW, I am a gorgeous black and tan, neutered male, and only 18 weeks old, 14 pounds, AKC great breeding. Since I am a puppy I need lots of attention and a bit of potty training, but I'm learning fast!
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give Griffin a happy, carefree life? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@teleport.com - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
