Jeter is a six year old cat whom has been completely misunderstood.. okay, so she is dominent, and VERY food motivated.. ( actually she will steal it right from your plate if you turn your head) ... but all in all she is a doll!! she loves to bask in the window sill.. will tolerate other cats... but please do not place a dog near her!! If you like a comedian.... a partner in crime... than Jeter is the cat for you !!
We believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes.
We provide spay and neuter services and any and all necessary medical care for pets.
We work diligently to educate the public on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership, Disease control, as well as the Humane Treatment of Animals.
The Meriden Humane Society has been a "No Kill" animal shelter since 1836.
We are a private organization and are not affiliated with any other Humane Society or rescue organization. We do NOT receive any funding from the city or state, but in fact are funded by the generous people who believe that "Life Matters".
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are open to the public from 12-5pm Friday thru Sunday. We can also make appointments on other days if our schedule does not meet your needs. Please email us at: email@example.com for all inquiries.
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters over 21 years of age must first fill out an application for adoption. It takes at least 3-5 days for application to be processed. Vet checks are done as well as references, and home checks. Our cats are $95.00 for a fully vetted cat. Dogs are $175.00. Puppies are $250.00 for a fully vetted dog/pup.

You'll receive a copy, too, at
to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
