Stella's Story...
Nov. 2013 UPDATE: Third time is the charm! Stella was rescued as a puppy from the high kill miami dade shelter by a family who didnt know think she would grow so big and realized they just didnt have the time for her. She went into a foster home who fell in love with her and wanted to keep her but her energy and size proves to be too much for the smaller senior dogs in the home so she is back up for adoption. She will be 2 years old in Febuaray and is 70lbs. She is very sweet and LOVES kids as well as her doggie friends. Stella is playful and energetic and would make a great running partner. She is sometimes nervous around men but she enjoys the car and boats and is potty trained. Stella is spayed, microchipped and UTD on vaccinations. Please email Regan for more information at summerislaboat@gmail.com

Please email adopt@thisisthedog.com for an application. Donations are critical to our existence -- they help us to continue rescuing these animals and to make sure that they are healthy and up to date on vaccines as well as spayed/neutered.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Homestead Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
