Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MYLEE is 4 years old. She is an 11 lb black and tan short coat mini doxie. She somehow injured her back and can't use her back legs very well. Owner could not afford the surgery they suggested. They said it was a small chance that the surgery would even work. She has regained movement in both legs and can wag her tail.Since owner cannot afford to give her the care and a wheelchair that I believe that she desperately needs. She gets around pretty well on the grass but we think if she had a wheelchair she would go like crazy and move like she wants to. Possibly she will regain more muscle to be able to walk again. She can stand little by herself but for only brief moments. We hope there is someone out there who will have the time and money to give her the life that she needs. Contact Jenell for more information at 503 313 3220.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. Our fees help cover the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training. Fee: $295.
