Joey's Story...
Joey was found wandering in a backyard. No one has claimed him so now he's looking for a new home where he will be loved and protected forever.
This hansdome and elegant kitty is estimated at about 2 years young and his extremely soft coat is mostly white with beautiful gray markings and a lovely long tail with a white ring at the end.
Joey is very friendly, not shy, and really affectionate. He has a good appetite, impeccable litter box manners, and loves to play with toys and chase balls.
He is healthy, neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated and FIV/FLV negative. A small adoption fee applies to cover costs and you must promise to keep Joey indoors so he will never get lost and will always be safe from the dangers of the outside world.
Food, scratching post and his litter box will be included.

About Our Rescue Group...
KittyKaretakers of Queens is working to help reduce the number of homeless cats and kittens in Queens, New York. We originally began rescuing and caring for stray and feral cats. In 2001, KittyKaretakers of Queens officially became a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, no-kill, all volunteer corporation.

KittyKaretakers' most important goals are:
- to find homes for as many homeless cats and kittens as possible, and
- to reduce the number of stray and feral cats living on the streets.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We do not have a specific facility for you to see our cats and kittens. Many of our cats are socialized in foster homes. As a result, we get to know our cats and kittens very well and can provide detailed personality descriptions to prospective homes. Visits are by appointment only. Please contact us at kittykaretakers@yahoo.com, and we will be happy to make arrangements for you to meet your new potential feline companion.
Please check our website regularly for locations of special events and adoptions we are having. If you are interested in a specific cat, please e-mail to verify that the cat you are interested in will be present that day.
Our Adoption Process...
If we have an animal that is the right match it can go home as soon as the application process is completed and approved. The adoption will be finalized by bringing the new companion(s) to your home.

We are a no-kill animal center, so all cats are safe with us until a new home is found. We are looking for permanent homes for all of our animals in the best way we know how. Prospective adopters are carefully screened as we strive for a "match made in heaven." All of our pets come with a lifetime guarantee that if at any time, for any reason, an adoption does not work out, KittyKaretakers will take the animal back. Lifetime homes are our ultimate goal.

Kittens are adopted in pairs or must go into a household with already another cat or dog. Our fee is $80 for one and $140 for two cats. This fee helps cover the cost of spaying or neutering, initial vaccinations, medical care and tests, flea control and de-worming, and the care of the animals for as long as it takes to find a new home. The fee not only covers the expenses of the cat being adopted but also the cats that remain in our care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joey, a Jamaica Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Jamaica, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Jamaica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jamaica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jamaica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jamaica paves the way for another one to be saved.
