Mona's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Mona's Story...
Mona is a very special hound who was most likely used only for breeding, She was not very well socialized. She does get along with other dogs and would definitely benefit from having another dog to teach her to play and trust. Mona was very timid when she came to us but is coming out of her shell very nicely. She has learned to play with both dogs and people. She needs time to learn to trust you first. To do this she just needs you to sit with her and pet her. And follow her lead when it comes to playtime. Mona needs to alway have a crate to relax and be quiet in. She finds comfort in her crate and it makes her feel safe. Mona is very affectionate and becoming more and more playful with her doggie friends and her foster family. Updated info as of 10/21/12-- loves car rides -- check out the video. was taken only a couple of weeks after arriving @ her foster family in mid Sept. and has progressed much more since then.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mona, a Chesterfield Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Chesterfield, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Chesterfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chesterfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chesterfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chesterfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
