Teddy's Story...
IDGSR WELCOMES TEDDY INTO THE RESCUE!!
Teddy is a 18 month old sweet boy. Teddy was surrendered to the rescue via the previous owners vet's office. Teddy was not getting along well with the alpha male dachshund in his previous home. Teddy is well socialized with other dogs and is getting along just fine pack introduced with many other dogs of all ages both males and females. Teddy knows many basic obedience commands and is well mannered and walks well on a leash. While he will crate just fine to sleep, he prefers not to and it's not necessary as he is so well mannered. He is housebroken and past that chewing everything in sight stage.
Teddy does get nervous when in new situations with a lot of dogs around him, so a 'dog park' outing or where lots of other dogs are roughhousing would probably not be in Teddy's best interest to make that a regular event. Teddy would do fine in a home with a nice large breed female dog or by himself. He is very affectionate and will make a great companion and walking or hiking partner. He is approx. 65lbs.

If you would like to make Teddy a part of your family please apply with this rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teddy, a Greeneville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Greeneville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Greeneville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greeneville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greeneville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greeneville paves the way for another one to be saved.
