Shelter Info...

About Our Shelter...
We are a non-profit, no kill spca. We will adopt out as many animals as we can, but if they never get homes, that's fine, either us workers will take them home, or they will be life time residents. They love it at the shelter. We do not house our dogs in kennels, they have big yards to run in all day, and only sleep in kennels at night. We are one unique shelter.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Any day between 11 am and 3 pm. We're always open!
Our Adoption Process...
The Puppy/Dog adoption fee is $125. Kitten/Cat adoption fee is $50.

Requirements: All other animals in the home must already be spayed or neutered, unless the animal is too young. The animals must live inside only. No tying out your dogs. If you rent you must come with a signed paper from your landlord, allowing pets. If you are out of county please contact Tricia, at shelter_dogs1@hotmail.com, for further directions.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Mainly Schuylkill County, but we will adopt to any one who we find to be wonderful pet owners, who can get themselves to the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max VERY URGENT!!, a Pottsville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Pottsville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Pottsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pottsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pottsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pottsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
