Dakota's Story...
Check out this adorable pup! Dakota has cute collie ears like her mama and she is ready for her new home! She is happy, playful, loves other pets and especially people. Squeeky toys and stuffed animals are her favorite! Before Dakota came to the rescue (as a very little puppy) she had a small lesion on her foot pad that caused two of her toes to become deformed a little bit. It has healed fine, has not given her any difficulty and she runs and plays just like the other pups. It will not affect her in her life at all. Dakota is spayed and up to date and can't wait for a family to love her and make her their own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Harrisonburg Collie/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Collie/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
