Benelli's Story...
Benelli is a 7 month old Bluetick/collie mix. She was taken in by a young couple from a bad living situation. Unfortunately they cannot keep her. She is a medium sized dog who needs room to run, someone with patience and time to devote to training and being active with her. She is fully housetrained and is great with all animals - from horses to dogs - and kids from 2 years up (she's a little excitable and may knock over younger kids). She can get stubborn and confused if negative discipline is taken, so she really needs positive-based training. She loves the water, hiking, and anything outdoors as well as sleeping at the foot of your bed. She has never been around cats. She definitely needs space to play and run. She does not do well alone so either a constant human companion or another dog is recommended for Benelli.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benelli, a Bellingham Collie/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Collie/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Collie/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
