Ruff Ruff! My name is Eli

Eli's Story...
This little boy is Eli and he is just precious. He was a stray found wandering the streets and picked up by animal control. He was rescued from the high kill animal shelter by his foster mom at the very last minute before his time was up. He weighs about 7 lbs. and our best guess is he is 6-8 years old. Although it takes Eli a bit of time to warm up to new people, after settling in to his foster home and feeling secure, he has become a very loving, cuddly and playful little guy although he seems to get attached to one person--who then belongs to him. He burrows under a blanket for hours at a time and is happy sleeping in his crate or in the bed. Although Eli can sometimes have the protective and territorial Chihuahua attitude with strangers he is well behaved and playful, very bright and alert, and gets along with other dogs. When he gets really excited he dances around and sometimes runs in circles. Eli loves to lay in the grass in the sunshine and to go for car rides. He also LOVES to be carried around and is a perfect lap dog. He is smart, obedient, comes when he is called, and is crate trained. He does have an occasional accident if not given opportunity to go outside, but always feels terrible about it. Eli would be very well suited for an adult who could give him undivided attention with lots of hugs and kisses and his little head is so kissable! Can you be his forever person that will always love him and give him the attention and care he deserves so much? (AE)
