My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY POSTING: FOR INFO ON FARRIS, PLEASE CONTACT MS. DEBBIE AT DOXYMEE@AOL.COM
Hi everyone, My name is Farris and I'm an adorable Yorkshire Terrier boy, about 6 or 7 years old, weighing about 3 or 4 lbs. The average life span for us Yorkies is 13 to 16 years so I'm in my prime. When I first arrived I ignored all the sounds and so they thought I was deaf. But then my ears were cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more and suddently I started responding to my name. My ears feel so much better now. I'm happy, sweet, love everyone and I adore a little play time on the bed. I came to rescue after I got out of my house and wandered about a half a block where a sweet lady found me and notified the SPCA. Once the animal control folks arrived my owner showed up. Because I had been found wandering around and was unaltered they brought me to the shelter and were ready to send me back home had my owner paid a small fine which included my neuter and shots. It was less than a hundred bucks.....what a bargain!!! But, they never did. Rather, they just left me there and didn't even call to check on me. One of the ladies with NOLA Dachshund rescue heard about me from the nice lady who found me and agreed to take me into the program. Pretty nice of them considering I'm not even close to being a Dachshund. Once I was neutered and given a thumbs up on my health exam I went to the foster home. In foster care I have shown how good a boy I really am. I'm sweet, I follow you around, get along with the other doggies and people and potty outside or on the pee pad most of the time. I do still have some accidents but I give good ques so if you pay attention it is super easy to know when I need to go outside. Now, I'm just waiting for my forever home.

The adoption process includes an application, home visit, interviews and vet reference check to make sure we are a "Perfect Match". My adoption fee is $350.00 which includes my neuter, shots, heart worm and flea preventative, microchip and any other medical needs I may have had while in foster care. Good quality food and some TLC was thrown in for good measure. To apply for me simply send an email to Ms. Debbie at doxymee@aol.com and request an application or ask any questions you may have.
