My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sometimes we rescue a dog and they are instant favorites with our volunteers. Sugar is one of those dogs! Here are just two examples of the glowing comments that our volunteers have to say about this sweet gal!

"Sugar is so cute! I read her page, but for some reason thought she was bigger so when I actually saw her I was surprised just how tiny she was! She was very excited to see me when I picked her up. She doesn't mind being held, and loves to give kisses. We went over to the park, and she did great in the car - just sat very content. We parked the car and got out and sugar absolutely LOVED being outside. She was pulling me all around the grass to sniff, she took care of her business, and was hopping and prancing all over trying to play with me - so cute!! We sat down in the shade for a bit and relaxed, she loved just hanging out and is so super friendly."

"Sugar is just as sweet as her name. She came rushing out to greet me and tried to jump up on my lap (but she was a little too small to make the leap.) We went for a walk and Sugar did very well. She marched right along and was not distracted by anything that crossed our path;walkers, cars or people on bikes. We did see a few dogs on our walk and Sugar was interested in them all (even though they were all much bigger than her.) We got to the park and sat for a bit for a drink and to cool off. Sugar wanted to be in my lap and flopped over like a baby for lots of tummy rubs. I had brought a toy for her (a squeaky bear) which she loved. She pounced on it and tossed it around and even offered it to me for a game of tug of war. Sugar is a little dynamo and super sweet and loving. Sure to become a favorite :)"

So if you need a little "Sugar" in your life, look no further! She's ready to go. All she needs is daily walks and tummy rubs and she'll return the love tenfold! Fill out an application for our little gal today - www.azrescue.org.

Sugar weighed 8 pounds when we saved her from the kill list.
