MEET FRED. I am a sweet and friend brown dappled neutered male dachshund, under two years old. I love my family, but they are leaving the country and are not allowed to take me along. You'll want to meet me as I am playful, good with other dogs, and older children. I'm also quite calm, and I'm really good natured as well. Here at the Resuce they say that I am the best doxie ever! Wow. Can't beat that. You'll want to get those applications in because I am very anxious to me you.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues. All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $350, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
