Carmen's Story...

Carmen is a Cattle dog/JRT mix who was born in January, 2011.

Until coming to PAWS Pet Rescue a few months ago, Carmen and her two sisters, Rita and Salsa, lived in a rather tough situation spending most of their young life in a dirty 8 by 10 outside run. They were not physically mistreated just sort of ignored by their aging owners. Now the girls are doing great and enjoying time to run and play like most busy cattle dogs.

Carmen in particular is very focused on her people and will be easy to train as she is very food motivated. Carmen is used to being crated, is doing well on her house training, gets along well with other dogs but can be somewhat bossy over her toys. Carmen likes the cats in her foster home but will engage in a good game of chase if they run the house.

So if you are looking for a busy, smart little side kick, Carmen is the dog for you.

All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date with age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped and come with a 30 day free health insurance. Please email us for an adoption application. Thank You!

Pixie Animal Rescue is run by volunteers. We do not have a facility, so all of our animals are in foster homes. Please give us time to respond to your email. Thank You!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmen, a Brighton Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Brighton, or seeking a Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Brighton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brighton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brighton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brighton paves the way for another one to be saved.
