My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady is adorable with her big meaty Shar Pei nose. She is a young girl who is still very much a puppy at almost a year old. She is coming along nicely in her foster home and is learning her manners and how to be a part of the group. She is currently fostered in a home with other dogs and cats and lots of activity. She is affectionate and playful and needs a home where she can continue her training. Lady weighs approximately 30 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

Lady is a very inquisitive little girl! She is interested in whatever your doing. She is a great companion and loves to be the life of the party! Lady is social with everyone she comes across. She has a very puppy-like personality. Lady loves going out on new adventures and meeting new friends. She does like to chase the cats but stops when told and never tries to cause any harm when she catches up to them. She might be best however in a home without cats.

Lady is crated at night and when there is no one at home. As long as she gets a walk before bed she is clean and quiet in her crate thoughout the night. She doesn't like the crate but because we have other dogs in the home we do crate her during the day when we are at work. I would say it would be best for her to have a designated spot it the house that is tidy and where she is able to play with her toys would be the best case scenario. We have been giving her bones and kongs and after about 5 minutes with the bones/kongs she will settle down.

Lady loves loves loves her toys! She loves to throw them around and just do little busy play. Lady does enjoy cuddling up on the couch beside you after a day of playing and walks. Lady enjoys the company of other dogs and does well with her 5 foster brothers and sisters. She would do best with another friendly dog in the home to play with. Someone to wrestle with and snuggle with throughout the day!

It appears that Lady does not come from a home. A lot of things are still very new to her. She has learned a lot of manners and how to behave in the house. She has a surprisingly good recall and knows sit and down. She has become very food motivated, she loves cheese and stinky treats! Lady is on her way to being leash trained, she does let her nose get the best of her at times but when working with her with treats she's able to focus. I do believe that basic dog training would be incredibly beneficial with Lady. With structure and guidance Lady learns quickly and overall is happier.

If you would like to make this girl part of your family pack, please submit an application for consideration.
