My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NICO....Golden Retriever.. 4 years old. This young man is a love and he can't give or get enough of it !  He was with a family who really had no time for him and we suspect that the "dad" was heavy handed with him. He had no vetting for many years and no training or socialization. When he came to us he was a bundle of nerves and scared to death of everything plus he was a wild man. He was like a 6 month old puppy in a 4 year old body ! Since he has been with us he has made great progress and has great potential for training and to learn new things.  He is going to be a wonderful dog and a typical "goofy Golden". Nico rides very well in the car and he loves to go for rides and have a burger. He needs work on the leash but is learning.  Nico is potty trained.  All of his vetting has been done and our vet (Dr Chris Elson at Burnt Hills Vet Hospital) thinks he's a great boy. We are looking for a home where he will get oodles of love and attention as well as an understanding that he does need training and patience. He is good with dogs of a good temperament but who can handle a dog who is very playful. We want to be sure that it is a very gentle home so that he can build his confidence.
