Howie's Story...
Howie likes to cuddle in front of, well anywhere, and take long walks on the, well everywhere. He's loving the retired racing life and is ready for his new career, as your pet. Howie has come to us after getting knocked around a bit, but that doesn't seem to stop him from loving the new pet life. He has lost a nail on his front right paw, but that should grow back. He came to us with a dislocated toe and the only way for the vet to fix it was to amputate, that shouldn't grow back (but if it did?!? wow). Howie could care less about the toe but cares plenty for his friends, including grown-ups, kids of all sizes and even cats. He likes to talk so don't be surprised if you start hearing a strange voice, it's just Howie. His first night in a house he gave a little whine at the door to let us know that he needed out, very good for his first night out of the race track kennels. Find out a little more about him at our website, www.greyhoundsverdevalley.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Howie, a Cottonwood Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Cottonwood, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Cottonwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cottonwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cottonwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cottonwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
