Rosita's Story...
"Hello everyone...if you are looking for one of the sweetest, cutest, and prettiest little Chihuahua ladies around, then look no further than my kennel. My name is ROSITA and I'm just 1 year old. I have a beautiful reddish/tan coat and fetching brown eyes. I love kids, other animals, and nice warm laps, so I think I would be the perfect new family member for you. I love going for walks, I enjoy getting brushed, and sometimes I just enjoy relaxing. Being small, I would not take up very much room in the house, and I'd only need a smallish yard where I could play and get my exercise. I'd love to have my very own comfy and warm bed in the house, so that I could always be close to my person or my family. The shelter staff isn't sure yet if I'm house trained, but I'm sure I would catch on fast with your love and patience. We've got great exercise yards here at the shelter; the perfect place for us to get to know each other. Come and hold me in your arms and hold me close to your heart, and we might discover that we are meant to be together forever. I've got a very sweet and loving personality, and would love to belong to someone who will love me "FUR"EVER. I'll be watching, waiting and also listening for the sound of your footsteps as they get close to my kennel gate, and then I will know for sure you have come to meet me. We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.

We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.

We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.

We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
