Petey's Story...
Petey is a five year old Maltese who was rescued from Animal Control after his owners brought him there because they couldn't care for him any longer. Petey suffers from a condition that Maltese's are prone to where there knees tend to pop in and out of place. Petey will be seeing our orthopedic specialist to determine if he requires surgery yet for this.
Petey is very timid at first and needs a little time to warm up and trust people. Once he does he is a sweetheart who loves going for walks and will just curl up in your lap, he also loves to sleep in bed right beside you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petey, a Pineville Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Pineville, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Pineville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pineville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pineville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pineville paves the way for another one to be saved.
