Mia's Story...
EST DOB: 3/7/09 Medical Conditions: Needs lysine support
Sweet Mia looks like a little doll. She loves to sit in the window and watch the day go by, without a care in the world. When you walk in the room she jumps down and rubs against your feet, begging for a scratch on the head. She is very tolerant even around kittens.

When Mia first came to us, she had a virus called Calicivirus and became very sick. Cats are vaccinated against this illness, but sometimes cats/kittens in situations like shelters or outdoors catch it before fully protected. She is now healthy and fully vaccinated to keep her strong. It will be very important that she continue to be vaccinated every year. She will, also, need to be adopted as an only cat or with a playmate from her room just as a precaution for unexposed cats. We have had a lot of success with adopting out cats that have gotten sick from this virus and now live normal, happy lives in their new furever homes. Contact us for references or questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Flower Mound Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Flower Mound, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Flower Mound.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flower Mound already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flower Mound breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flower Mound paves the way for another one to be saved.
