Trixie - Courtesy Referral's Story...
Trixie is that perfect companion you've been searching for..... the girl of your dreams. She LOVES people, and is convinced that she, herself, is not a dog! Trixie is playful and loads of fun outdoors, but is calm and very well behaved in the house. She much prefers being in the house to being outside, even though she enjoys playing with other dogs outside. She is perfectly housetrained, sleeps through the night without a peep, and is not destructive. Her indoor manners are impeccable. She's a little unsure about cats, so she might need some training in that area. Trixie is loving and affectionate, and is very smart! She learns quickly, and is very eager to please.

The first step in applying for one of our pets is to fill out an application. This in no way obligates you to adopt. It helps our foster parents learn more about you, which helps them determine if the pet would be a good fit for your situation. Please log on to our website at www.bbcra.org then click on the button on the left-hand side that says Apply to Adopt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie - Courtesy Referral, a Pittsboro/Durham Rat Terrier/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Beagle for sale in Pittsboro/Durham, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Beagle dog from a breeder in Pittsboro/Durham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsboro/Durham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsboro/Durham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Beagle breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsboro/Durham paves the way for another one to be saved.
