Ludi's Story...
Ludwig "Ludi" (previously known as Charger) had been found as a stray by an individual in the middle Tennessee area. The man who found him was unable to keep him and took him to the shelter to surrender him after exhausting all other options. Because of our great relationship with this area animal control facility, a shelter worker called and asked MTGSR to intercede, hoping that this boy could avoid being subjected to the shelter. We took him into our program and had him fully vetted.

All dogs adopted from Middle Tennessee German Shepherd Rescue are spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations and micro-chipped. If you are interested in setting up an appointment to meet this dog, please call 615-218-6478 or email us at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ludi, a Nashville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Nashville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
