Ruby 13314-d's Story...
Ruby came to the shelter when she was brought to us by a good Samaritan. This person brought her up from a kill shelter in North Carolina but couldn't find her a home in Ithaca. Ruby is an energetic little girl who has been a little overwhelmed by the noisy kennels. Despite this, she is a very sweet girl who wins hearts over quite easily. Ruby will blossom in a home where she is provided with the comfort of routine. She is young and energetic and will do best in a home where she can get lots of exercise. Sadly, Ruby hasn't been socialized with other dogs so should go to a home as the only canine companion in the house. We're not sure how she is with cats but can test her here at the shelter if you're interested in adopting her and that is an issue. Ruby will bond nicely to her new owner and become a truly loyal, wonderful companion. Ruby is a fantastic little girl who deserves a shot at a good home; will it be yours?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby 13314-d, a Ithaca Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
