found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Mary was picked up as a stray, severely emaciated (only 27lb) and with an extensive skin infection. She was so starved that she looked like a walking skeleton, yet she kept wagging her tail and trying to lick everyone's hand. Mary was taken to a local veterinary office to be euthanized - an unwanted dog, too much trouble to deal with.
With the generous outpouring of support and donations from many compassionate people, Meows & BowWows Animal Rescue was able to save Mary's life. Her skin infection has been treated, she has gained back her weight, has been spayed, vaccinated and has undergone a grueling heart worm treatment. Mary is now ready to embark on a new, happy chapter of her life. She needs a responsible loving home where her wonderful personality can truly shine.
Because of all the abuse and neglect in her earlier life Mary has some permanent heart damage, which requires that she lead a calm life with less excitement and activity than other dogs. She is also on some medication which keeps her heart damage at bay and will allow her to live a normal and long doggie life. The medication is not expensive and Mary is definitely worth the little extra care. She is a rare dog and everyone who has met her in person can confirm that. For more information about Mary or if you would like to meet her in person, please contact us at MeowsAndBowWows@gmail.com.
Adoption fee $125 (includes spay, annual vaccines, de-worming, heartworm testing and micro-chip); Local adopters only (Greater Memphis area); Pre-adoption home visit and veterinary references are required.
