UPDATE 3/6/16: Chloe is a puppymill survivor with many emotional scars. She likes to be pet on her terms only and she still hates to be picked up. She is 11 years old and just a beautiful girl. She has eye issues and uses eye meds daily . She is now blind in one eye from cataracts. She is not completely potty trained. Will go out the doggie door but will also go where ever she is inside when the urge strikes. She is very sweet with other dogs and is a quiet little munchkin. She needs a patient family, a fenced yard, no kids and a kind gentle dog for a friend would be nice.

Chloie is a 9+ year old shih tzu who came from a backyard breeder. Chloe is a very very sweet but damaged little girl. She tolerates being pet but does not like being picked up. She is just finally starting to venture off the deck into the fenced yard after 3 years here. She is afraid on a leash. She expresses her anal glands when you pick her up, that is how afraid she is. She is friendly and playful to the other dogs here and seems to get comfort from them. She likes her foster Mom and will follow her around but will not cuddle or seek out to be picked up.Due to her fear issues she is considered a flight risk and would not be a good traveling partner. She is also still learning about potty training. She is doing better but does not ask to go out and will still go in the house at times. If you have the home for Chloie, go to and submit an application. NO PHONE CALLS!

Adoption donation is $150.00

About Hubbards Hounds Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

The rescue was started in 2008 and we are dedicated to providing shelter dogs, puppy mill dogs, and owner turn-ins a second chance at a good life. Director Susan Hubbard will do everything possible to ensure the care of a dog. I own 3 rescue dogs and a rescued cat, all adopted from rescues or shelters. Every dog is important and the right home is out there for all of them! "Saving one dog at a time"

Come Meet Our Pets...

We don't have a kennel, meeting a dog can be arranged by appointment once an application has been submitted and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

This rescue group does have a contract and donation requirement to adopt a dog. This helps us to ensure the dogs safety for the remainder of his/her life and to continue to rescue dogs in need to rehome them. An applicaton must be filled out on our website, references checked, an interview done and a home visit check.
