Jack's Info...

Jack's Story...
I'm told my name is Jack, like JACK-o-lanterns. Since I'm not real good at the big toothy smile thing, I think my name comes from my being such a bright boy! I probably weigh about as much as a good Jack needs to be for lanterns - so that would be about 11lbs! And I'm the bestest age too, as I'm only 1 year old so I'm ripe enough to train and surely will mold into a great pup for you!

I'm sure I can be your shining lantern, so if you want to fill out an application, just contact the people at CaliCan Rescue (info@calicanrescue.com) and they'll tell you how to do that!

Adoption Fees are $280 and cover neuter, updated DHLPP, updated rabies, heart worm testing, deworming, microchipping, any additional vet costs, as well as the transportation to come to Edmonton

Black dogs always have the toughest time getting adopted. Reasons vary, but the biggest one is because they rarely stand out among other dogs with lighter colors. Unfortunately, this means they get forgotten and ultimately get euthanized. "Black Dog Syndrome" is a sad reality with shelter pups, and it's unfair. There are MANY great things about black dogs. Their eyes are more expressive and you can't see any dirt on their fur either!

Give a black dog a chance. You won't lose them in the Canadian snow!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Edmonton Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Edmonton, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Edmonton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edmonton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edmonton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edmonton paves the way for another one to be saved.
