Jake's Story...
Jake is approximately 9 months old. He was found on a dirt road with hundreds of gray ticks on him, a huge hole in his leg from being shot, and rips and tears all over his body. His leg needed to be healed from the inside out so it was treated conservatively but it never got better. So back to the vet we went and it was discovered that he had an inch long bone fragment that was preventing the leg from healing. He had surgery in August. His leg is now completely healed and he is back to being the great little puppy that he should've been all along.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a East Hartford Bernese Mountain Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bernese Mountain Dog for sale in East Hartford, or seeking a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy from a breeder in East Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in East Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a East Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bernese Mountain Dog breeders who help with Bernese Mountain Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in East Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
