Bert's Story...
I came to AWLMC from the Montgomery County Humane Society with my brother Ernie. We were given up for unknown reasons. We are both orange tabbies. Ernie is the darker of the two of us. We come as a package deal as we have to find a new home together. We will make you laugh with our play wrestling and other antics of young cats. Bert is the shier of the two of us. Ernie tends to be more outgoing and more curious, Bert just follows his lead. We love to play, play and play some more!! We are always on the go and are full of energy. Of the many toys we enjoy, the laser light pointer is the best! We do enjoy sitting in laps and cuddling, but not for long periods. Bert enjoys lap time more and will give head butts and loves to be petted. Come see us today! We were born in 2011.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bert, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
